Worship Ministries
Altar Guild
The members of the Altar Guild are trained in preparing our sanctuary for worship services. They are knowledgeable about Episcopal liturgies, the seasons of the Episcopal Church, and Feast Days. They care for the altar, its furnishings, and linens.
Morning Prayer
All are welcome to join our online morning prayer services Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. Please contact Mo. Julie if you would like to be trained as a morning prayer leader.
Music
The music program at St. Andrew’s and Christ Episcopal is a diverse blend of the historic Episcopal hymnody mixed with contemporary worship music. With an ensemble of authentic, acoustic musicians and a bevy of Church members, most Sundays you’ll hear and sing along with vocalists, while enjoying the melodic sounds of violin, piano and guitar. Throughout the year we are joined by fellow musicians demonstrating their talents in cello, organ, oboe, flute, harp, and a brass ensemble. Our music program participates in weekly services of worship, quarterly services of Taize, as well as Holy Week Services.
If you have interest in learning more about the choir, or would like to join us in instrumental accompaniment, please contact Kevin Wood, our Music Director at seekevsing@gmail.com.
Lay Readers
Our lay readers come up to the podium to read the Old and New Testament readings, Psalm, and Prayers of the People each Sunday. If you would like to be a lay reader during our Sunday worship service, please contact us and we will arrange a short training session.
Ushers
Ushers greet worshippers as they arrive on Sunday mornings, welcoming them, handing out the service bulletins, counting the attendees, and assisting with the collection plate.
Worship in Japanese
Brother Ambrose leads a worship service online in the Japanese language every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with worshippers from across the United States. You can join here.
